Sarah Johnson
LIGHTING & MULTIMEDIA DESIGNER
Sarah Johnson is a theatrical lighting and multimedia designer based in Portland OR, originally from San Diego CA. Sarah graduated with her B.A. in Theatrical Arts, Design/Technical Production from California State University San Bernardino in 2012.
She was the Lighting Fellow at The Old Globe Theatre for two years where she earned the opportunity to be an assistant lighting designer for the Tony Award winning show A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder.
Sarah graduated from The Ohio State University with her M.F.A in Design, Digital Animation Interactive Media. There she began her cross over work using elements of animation, media, and theater to create visually compelling digital performances such as Undark.
While attending OSU she worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Motion Capture Lab at The Advance Computing Center for Arts and Design. There she collaborated with a variety of departments including dance, design, animation, media and theater to create works of art and assisting classes in the ever changing flexibility of the facility.
Sarah has recently become a mom and enjoys the challenges of motherhood, not so much the gray hair that accompanies it though.
Sarah currently works as a freelancer in multimedia design developing design concepts in collaboration with a variety of clients.
